1. NAME: The name of the society is ENGINEERS WITHOUT BORDERS hereinafter referred to as "EWB-India".
2. REGISTERED OFFICE AND ADDRESS: The registered office of the society , shall be as decided by the Board of Management in the State of Andhra Pradesh.
3. AIMS AND OBJECTS
The Society hereby created shall be known as ENGINEERS WITHOUT BORDERS and is formed for the following aims and objectives:
3.1 Establish a self-sustaining non-governmental, non-profit organization that will bring a growing resource of engineering talent to assist developing communities with their fundamental engineering needs, enterprise endeavors and community development.
3.2 Create a system for empowering developing communities to initiate sustainable projects that will improve the quality of life for current and future generations.
3.3 Commit the Society's system to involve a network of NGOs and appropriate "in-country" entities and resources in joint ventures to multiply the effectiveness of the Society's activities.
3.4 Develop and implement criteria that will help screen and improve the impact of locally initiated projects and the ability of the Society and its joint venture partners to replicate its projects easily and inexpensively.
3.5 Design, test and disseminate models for mobilizing engineering resources through affiliates such as college, student and professional chapters that will respond quickly and effectively to projects developed through the Society's system.
3.6 Involve university students, as appropriate, empowering them to take an active role in the Society's activities and projects.
3.7 Enable students to learn about the application of sustainable engineering solutions to the problems of the developing world.
3.8 Participate and actively engage in civic activities like spreading environmental awareness, protecting natural habitats, helping in community development and poverty reduction projects for lower-income groups etc.
3.9 To organize public lectures and seminars on matters of environmental and infrastructural importance.
3.10 To engage in and enhance co-ordination and co-operation with voluntary, non governmental, scientific and other organizations having similar aims and objectives.
3.11 To issue appeals and applications for money and funds in the furtherance of the said objectives and to accept gifts, donations, endowments and subscriptions of cash and securities and of any property either towards the Society's activities or work.
3.12 To invest and deal with funds of the Society for furtherance of the aims and objectives.
3.13 To sell, mortgage, lease, exchange or otherwise transfer or dispose all or any property of the Society for the furtherance of its objectives.
3.14 To engage in non-political, legal and peaceful acts and to undertake other activities which may help to promote the objectives of the Society.
3.15 To enter into such agreements with Trusts, Societies, Associations, Institutions and any other bodies or groups of persons as may help to promote the objectives of the Society.
3.16 To acquire Land, Buildings by purchasing or otherwise to establish EWB-India Offices and Chapters to meet the aims and objectives of the society.
3.17 To contribute funds to Trusts/Societies having similar objects.
3.18 All income of the Trust shall be utilized towards the promotion of the aims and objectives of the Trust and shall not be distributed among its members or to anybody, by way of profit, interest, dividend etc.
3.19 Advancement of education of all legitimate and lawful means and with out any profit motive including the establishment, endowment, maintenance, control and management of schools, colleges and educational institutions of all kinds including Technical and Industrial polytechnics and research centers and to start, establish, conduct, maintain and manage reading rooms, libraries, research centers, workshops, vocational training centers, etc.
3.20 Relief of poverty and distress of all kinds and to give monetary aid or other help for relief from natural calamities including fire and riots in any part of India.
3.21 To make rules and bye-laws for the conduct of the affairs of the society and to add, amend, vary or rescind them from time to time.
3.22 To do all such things as may be necessary, incidental or conducive to the attainment of all or any of the objects of the society.
3.23 To delegate any of its powers to the Board of Management.
3.24 To affiliate Chapters, Divisions, Branches, Centres and lay down necessary conditions and regulations for their functioning.
4.0 MANAGEMENT:
4.1 The affairs of the society shall be managed by the Board of Management.
4.2 The society shall apply its profits, if any, or other incomes in promoting its objects and prohibit the payment of any dividends or any income or profits among its Members.
We the several persons whose names, age, occupation and addresses are given below, having associated ourselves for the purpose described in the memorandum of association are hereby desirous of getting the society registered under the Andhra Pradesh Societies Registration Act 2001.
