EWB GITAM Hyderabad chapter organized a Blood Donation Camp on 31st July 2015 in collaboration with The Indian Red Cross Society. The camp was organized in GITAM University Hyderabad campus. There were 3 blood banks in all from Hyderabad (IRCSH), Suryapet (IRCSS) and Mahbubnagar (IRCSM)areas with a total of 25 members of the Indian Red Cross Society.
The camp was inaugurated by Prof. N. Siva Prasad, Director of GITAM School of technology at 10:30 AM. The inauguration was also graced by Prof. Sanjay, Principal, Mr D.V.V.S.R. Varma, and Resident Director of GITAM hyd.
With an amazing response of 551 donors which included not only the students but also the faculty members and other non-teaching staff of GITAM University Hyderabad, each of the blood banks collected units of blood as follows
Hyderabad- 231
Suryapet- 120
Mahbubnagar- 200
Each of the donors was given a soft drink, biscuits and an apple.
