Alcoa Foundation Awards Grant to Engineers Without Borders – India to promote best practices in engineering for the developing world.

The Alcoa Foundation announced this week that Engineers Without Borders – India was selected alongside 12 other Engineers Without Borders International affiliates to receive grant funding as part ofthe Creation of a Global Engineer Program. The program is designed to create and replicate the best practices of “learning through service programs” that develop skills in leadership, project management, communication, systems thinking and community and  personal engagement.

Engineers Without Borders – India will utilize its funding to support the project:
                       “Integrating Service Learning and Global Engineer Training into Engineering Curriculum”
The project will involve translating the actual social projects undertaken by various Engineers Without Borders India Chapters into case studies, and videos resulting in “Learning Content” useable by rest of the engineering students globally. The project will involve various Academic institutions faculty members during discussions and evaluating the “Learning Contents” developed.
We intend to organize a National level workshop with students as well as faculty members to explore induction of “Learning Materials” developed. through this project addressing various global issues.
